Ian Siegal talks about his new album Candy Store Kid – video

The new album from British Blues Awards winner Ian Siegal & The Mississippi Mudbloods, “Candy Store Kid” is absolutely tremendous – already a contender for Album of The Year in my opinion. When I interviewed Ian in the spring he hinted (off the record) that he was hoping to make an album with the Dickinson brothers and Alvin Youngblood Hart again – following The Skinny – but he couldn’t tell me about it because he didn’t want to jinx it. He needn’t have worried – I don’t think anything could have jinxed this combination of songs, players, and, of course, Ian’s voice.
Here’s a great video of Ian talking about the album

New single from The Motives feat. Matt Taylor

One of the most enjoyable blues albums I’ve received over the past few months is the debut album from The Motives feat. Matt Taylor – great writing and playing, with at times a cool sixties vibe too. There’s a track by track analysis here.

The band have now released a new single, Burning Angel, and it is mighty fine too! You can hear it by clicking on the player below. Enjoy!
