Ray Renteurs – Scroller Guitars

Ray Renteurs (Snr.) doesn’t live too far from me, and in a previous life, when I played in a Country and Western band, he did a great job fixing a hole in the side of my acoustic guitar. When I was at his house he showed me some of the precursors of these guitars – yes, they are different, and I guess you’ll either love or hate the look of them. There’s no doubt, though, that they are very well made. The video is of Ray’s son, Ray (Jr.) playing “Nivram” on the guitars.

Here’s the spec:

Solid Sycamore head / neck and top
Ebony fingerboard
American Black Walnut back / sides / ribs
Mahogany “hand carved / scrolled bridge design”
Proprietary design solid Mahogany “sound-post / block” arrangement
Custom made / wound P-90 style pickups
Schaller ASD piezo / preamp
Gold fittings / hardware
Gold (9 carat) corner protectors
