It is only when you look at the track listing of this expanded 6 disk box set that you realise how many great songs Creedence recorded – (and how many of them I have played – and am still playing – in various bands I’ve been in). The set marks the legendary band’s 40th anniversary. The albums — Creedence Clearwater Revival, Bayou Country, Green River, Willy & the Poor Boys, Cosmo’s Factory and Pendulum, all originally released from 1968-70 —have been digitally remastered and contain an array of rarities: B-sides, unreleased studio and live material.
John Fogerty is a great songwriter and his voice suits the songs perfectly – there was always great playing, too, with lots of blues and swamp influences, to my ears. I’d love to find this boxset in my Christmas stocking!
